We Are Culture Creators is a collective of performers, visual artists and builders based in Southwest Detroit. Our collective has designed, built and curated hundreds of venues, public spaces, festivals and community art works throughout Detroit.
Beyond WACC being on the forefront of performance, we are also visual-multi-medium artists, builders, designers and curators born and raised in Detroit. As people of color, we had to work to create spaces for our voices and art. We have years of work creating installations, functional art and have been a lead designer in multiple place making projects.
We build, design, and create with non-traditional items and recycled materials. One of our skill sets is how best to utilize unlikely spaces & transform them into aesthetically beautiful spaces to build community & share in music, art & culture. Thousands of people have interacted with our art; seating areas built from pallets, stages built with recycled materials, and abandoned homes transformed into spaces engaging in community.
Though the majority of our work is community based art, we have worked with multiple brands: the Detroit Pistons, The Skillman Foundation, Foundation Hotel, Downtown Detroit Partnership, The City Of Detroit, Bedrock and many more.

Place making is key to our work. We have built three distinct locations to serve as spaces for music, art and culture. Below are a few recaps of each of these spaces in use. Staging, seating, functional art, and space to gather are key elements of all our designs and builds.
